The Little Things

Just arrived in Northern VA on my way to play some shows down south....Sitting in the guest room of my favorite aunt's house...picking up a wireless connection from one of the neighbors..........ah, it's the little things. :-) ...like the little blue cooler with a turtle on the front that I bought to keep in the car for my long drives. It has a matching water bottle. The water in it tastes better becuase it matches.

So, I plan to update this little journal page more often- especially while I'm on the road, as I will be for the next 3 weeks. So if you're interetsed, you can follow along in my journeys and see hear about all the things that I've been pondering and listening to on these sometimes endless drives down the east coast. 9 hours today in the car. When I stepped out and into my aunt's house, i felt- and still feel, even though I've been here for a good hour- like I've had too much coffee. My blood is shaking, but I'm not tired. Maybe it's the inertia from driving...maybe my body thinks it's still moving at 70mph.

Quartetto Gelato- Traditional Italian Neopolitan music (I grew up listening to this stuff-neopolitan folk songs- because of my dad)
Bob Dylan's autobiography, "Chronicles", read by Sean Penn...(this will probably take the entire 3 weeks to finish)
Toad The Wet Sprocket-Dulcinea

Tonight I'm headed to Iota to check out the open mic there. I've played there about a year ago with some great local talent and another time with my friend Rose Polenzani...so, I'm headed back to hopefully meet some new people at the open mic. It never hurts...ok, well sometimes it does. ;-)
