The Wildfowers

My 17 year old self was called Kristin-flower by my dear friend and harmonizer, Amy-flower. When we were seniors in high school, we formed our little acoustic guitar duo called, The Wildflowers. We played covers by the Indigo Girls, the Beatles, even threw in a few of our original songs, and we also played our favorite Tom Petty song, WIldflowers; our namesake song. We would ride in Amy-flower's red jeep wrangler with the windows off, (they used to snap on and off back then) out to her family's Pennsylvania farm house and pick wildflowers- no joke. Sixteen years later, Amy still reminds me what it's like to be a free spirit and to stop and smell the honeysuckle.

Now I get to see Amy & her FOUR little boys (T.J., Ryan, Peter, and Andy) when I travel through the Philly area. ...and she roasts chicken and mashes potatoes just for me, and she *always* puts a fresh flower in my room :-)
