Springing ahead...

Happy Spring!!

Flowers, flowers, flowers! I read the best quote this morning about the beginning of spring...apologies to whomever said it- i'm blanking on their name..

"Spring is when you feel like whistling even with a shoe full of slush."

It's the promise of warmer weather, longer days, and flowers, even though there is still salt on your car. It's actually attainable within weeks at this point! hooray!!

My marathon training has been very good. Last weekend I ran 16 miles down the Minuteman Trail, and on my "return stretch", around 11 or 12 miles in, i kid you not- there were actual minutemen, in full minutemen garb, guns over their shoulders, walking down the trail. I know i was a little bit dehydrated, but i swear, there they were, walking opposite me on the trail. I stopped to take a picture with my phone, but they were too far away at that point to get a shot of them. It made me laugh, nonetheless, and got me through the next 4 miles....as did my favorite frozen yogurt place, Berryline, in Harvard Sq, which is conveniently at the end of my run each week. planned that way? hmmmm... maybe so. :-) Berryline Frozen Yogurt is the best thing since sliced bread and is my "dangling carrot" every week now after my long runs.

Been going to the Lizard Lounge every Saturday this month to see my friends in the Click 5 do their thing at their March residency. These are 5 of the most talented and sweet guys ever!! Got to know a few of them through my boyfriend, who is their live sound engineer. They put on a fantastic show. They're used to playing stadiums and huge, ginormous (redundant on purpose here, to get the point across) venues all over Asia, where they have an amazing fan base. So to see them translate their show to the 175 person capacity Lizard Lounge is very cool. The songs stand on their own, and their performances are flawless and so much fun. 2 shows left to go to this month.

This saturday, though, (tonight) I will NOT be going to the Click 5 after party again, because I have to have my voice in tip-top shape for Friday. What's Friday? STUDIO DAY!!! That's right, the band & I are headed up to Tom Eaton's studio in quaint Newburyport, MA to start recording the new album. woo-hoo! I will be taking pictures to post here next week to keep you all updated.

....and the fundraising campaign continues! THANK YOU to those who have donated already. Here you are, you kind and generous people, you.

THANK YOU ALL SO MUCH! We have the first day in the studio covered! Much more to cover still....read below....

Part of the reason for the 5 year hiatus since my last album, So Long My Love, is because of money. ($$$$) Indie artists, such as myself, are responsible for every single penny that goes into the making of the album from studio costs (ca-ching, ca-ching), to photos, artwork, publicity, duplication, ca-ching, ca-ching....and the list goes on. Quite overwhelming.

If I can get 500 people that love music, or just love helping those in the arts, to donate just $10 each, then I'll be in decent shape to get most of this album done. So, if you feel like supporting an indie singer/songwriter get her art out into the world, please donate! And, SPREAD THE WORD!!

I promise to keep you updated through the journey of making the album with clips, photos, demos, blogs, etc. Whether you can donate $10, or $25, or $50, $100, etc, etc, etc, any amount helps and I will be listing all of my 'donating angels' (if you want) on my website!

Click on the "DONATE" button below and use your debit or credit card! If you'd rather donate using a check, please email me at kristincifelli@yahooi.com

THANK YOU ALL SO MUCH!

If you'd like to hear samples of the new songs that will be included on the new album, check out my myspace page. We have some demo & live versions of some of the songs there. Kristin's Myspace Page

See you all soon! ....come out to Toad in Porter Sq, Sundays, March 22nd and March 29th to hear me with my band! Check the Tour Page Here!

Peace,

~ kristin
