MARCH Happy Birthday Month to Me!!
My birthday was one week ago on March 2nd. It was such a great birthday. I woke up, watched a little TV of my favorite Sunday morning program, read some of my book, and then was treated to brunch by my sweetie. Watertown Town Deluxe Diner rocks!! Their little train car of a diner is completely heated by the oil that they use to make their hashbrowns and fries, etc. Then, we went for a drive in Western Mass, looking at mansions and daydreaming. :-)
In the evening, my dear friend, Katie, 
hosted a gorgeous dinner party in my honor.
Veggie lasagna... 
, a champagne toast, dark chocolate dipped strawberries and my famous chocolate red wine cupcakes. Yes, I baked my own birthday cupcakes. I love baking. It's relaxing and a fun creative outlet for me. Anyway, as Katie lit the candle, everyone grabbed a balloon and took a big inhale of helium and then proceeded to sing "Happy Birthday" to me. Definitely one of the best serenades I think I've ever gotten. Thanks, guys.
Today, I baked Tiramsu Cupcakes for David (my beau) for HIS birthday tomorrow. He doesn't really like sweets, which honestly, pisses me off...but he likes Tiramisu, so I continued on my cupcake craze and tried out this new recipe. My friend, Rachel approves, as she tested them out with me this afternoon. ;-)
Uh, music happenings? oh yeah...
I'm playing at Toad this Wednesday with my Good Little Band, and then again on April 23rd at the Lizard Lounge with Dennis Brennan. Oh! I also had the chance to sing a little back-up for Jennifer Kimball this past week at her residency at the Lizard. SO MUCH FUN. Her band is kick-ass, and she'll be passing the bass player torch this Wednesday as Richard Gates first does a set with her at the Lizard at 8, and then drives down the street to play with me at Toad at 10pm. Thanks, Jennifer!!
Happy Happy March. So many things to be excited about...strawberries are in season, sunlight til at least 6pm-ish, Jennifer Kimball and Dennis Brennan residencies at the Lizard Lounge, red wine cupcakes. veggie lasagna, spring training, opening day in Japan (woo-hoo!!!!), manicures, and a show at Toad on March 12th.
