September Hi Everyone.
Wow. September again. I actaully love September. To me, it's like a second chance at rekindling your New Year's resolutions. ...and for buying lots of school/office supplies. I love the smell of a new notebook. Geek, I know.
So, here is a snapshot into a little bit of what August gave me. Wish I could say it gave me a tan....although I have a few more freckles from being on the jersey shore, Ms. Cifelli doesn't really tan. ...and i bet I won't have wrinkles when I'm old, too. There are perks to being ghostly white, I guess.
I went to see my beloved Red Sox with my 12 year old fabulous voice student, Miranda. We had sweet seats! This is our view of Manny...without even using zoom on my camera!
ah, gorgeous Fenway Park. ...I actually got teary-eyed when I first was walking down to our seats. I LOVE Fenway Park!!
A couple of my friends and our significant others went out to the Boston harbor Island called Spectacle Island. It was so windy that day that we were all drenched in the red wine that spilled over on our picnic table. But it was a great little getaway with breathtaking views of the Boston skyline from afar.

Me and my girlfriends, Heather and Rachel

Heather and her beau, Eliot. (Eliot will be playing guitar for me next month!!)
The summer wouldn't be complete if I didn't see the Atlantic from my favorite spot on the Jersey Shore. Long Beach Island!!

After riding our bikes to Barnegat Light, David & I climbed Barnegat Lighthouse...and I discovered that my fear of heights is for real. My heart was pounding on the descending trip. Ah! Still pounds just thinking about it. But the views from up there were gorgeous.

and the roses smell extra sweet there...

When I got home, I played at the Passim Campfire in the round with my good freind, Brianna Lane!!
ok, ok, so I didn't do a ton of music in August. I like to think of August as a "re-charging" month. I feel really ready to kick some butt this Fall and to figure out how I'm going to get a new album out to the world. I have a VERY exciting show at the Lizard Lounge on October 6th. I'm featuring 2 new guitar players that will be joining me on lots of gigs. I have known Stu Berk and Eliot Hunt since college. Crazy. Eliot used to play in a fantastic band called Chauncey (R.I.P.) and Stu used to play in a band that the ladies loved called Averi. Together, they're coming up with really cool parts to my songs. So, if you're in Boston, you don't want to miss Oct 6th at the Lizard Lounge!!
I'm planning another trip to Nashville for October to write my butt off again. I can't wait. New York, I know I need to get down there again soon. Promise to work on doing that.
As for listening......
I've been hooked on the new Kim Richey, of course
...honestly, not too much more than that. So many CDs I've been meaning to buy this summer...just a lot of NPR listening. Going to see Bleu tonight, opening for Guster at the Bank of America Pavilion. Stu Berk is playing guitar for him! Yay Stu!
Well, guys, 'til next time....hope you enjoyed my little road trip of a journal entry.
