nashville

I know it's been a couple of weeks...I left my camera in my sister's car in NJ and it took a while to get it back. Alas, here are my remaining photos from my June tour to Nashville. I was there with my friend, Kyler England, for two weeks and wouldn't you know it, I have no pictures of the 2 of us to prove it. Damn! I can't believe I didn't get a shot of us! I did, however, get a shot of the grilled veggies that our gracious hostesses, Cathy and Mary made for us the night we arrived. yum-o.

While in Nashville, I ran into my friend, Natalie Prass. We had been emailing about getting together, and before we even made a solid plan, I ran into her at a trendy little hot spot called "PM". Natalie invited me to her gig at Christopher's Pizza on Demonbreun, where I played a song and took our self portrait.

Here's the AMAZING Natalie Prass playing....

I was also lucky enough to be in town when my friend, Chris Trapper was touring through town with Antigone Rising.

Chris is one of my favorite singer/songwriters and live singers as well. He only played about a half an hour which was a bummer for me since I'm so spoiled to get to see him play for 2-ish hours when we're in Boston. Chris introduced me to his friend, Al Bunetta...manager for John Prine.

So many things in Nashville that I didn't get pictures of! Will try to get more next time I'm there...which will be pretty soon. Yay. I love that town!!

On my way back to Boston, I stopped in NJ for a few days to spend with the fam, as well as my bestest friend and her cutie-pie baby, Jake. Here's me and Gina (my B.F.F.) at our lovely Saturday morning brunch.

I couldn't be happier with my trip to Nashville. I wrote so many songs that I'm proud and excited about. I already posted one on myspace that I wrote with former-Bostonian, Jabe Beyer. I just *love* this song and hope you do, too! The greatest feeling I have right now is that I have so many more songs I want to write....and I can't wait to catch them and sing them.

New CDs that I'm listening to lately...
Trent Dabbs...discovered him in Nashville at the Basement at his 30th birthday party, where all of his friends did a tribute night of Trent Dabbs songs as a total surprise. It was awesome and his CD is stunning.
Kate York...who I wrote with while in town. what a gorgeous sound. Check her out while she's on my "top friends" on myspace.
The Wreckers...ok- I'm late to the game on this one, but it's really fun. My favorite is the Patty Griffin song they cover.
Brandi Carlile...Damn, that girl can sing.
and.....i have the new Kim Richey on order. I CAN'T WAIT for that one!!

Stay tuned, y'all.

xo,
