June 2nd-June 8th

Iota in Arlington, VA, was great last week. Everyone was so nice to me. Here I am with Mike Maloney, the open mic coordinator there.




Then, a little sight-seeing with my niece and nephews. They came down to DC to visit with my aunt and uncle and cousins. So much fun. We saw the 3-D IMAX movie about Sharks.




Then I took off for Charlotte and a show Friday night. 3 hours into my drive, my tour bug wasn't very happy. She all of a sudden after a little shake, rattle and rolling, wanted a new alternator. Here she is getting "open bug surgery".



A nice man named Doug at DeWitt Tire in Dinwiddle, VA (a.k.a. "Bumblef***, VA) helped me out and told me about his grandaddy's 1938 Gibson guitar. I love the word "grandaddy".



I finally made it to Charlotte and the Evening Muse. My good friend, Jay Garrigan, joined me on a song, as well as my friend, (and 1/4 of the Near Misses) Reeve Coobs, sang some songs with me.

I've been in Nashville for a few days and I wrote a pretty song with Kate York today. She's so fantastic. I may be adding this one to my set lists! Hopefully more songs to come from this trip. So far, so good.

I love it here.
