March. Yay. I know it's been a while....I'm sorry.
I feel compelled to start my March journal in tribute to Brad Delp. I saw in horror on the news on Friday night,the report of his passing. What a talent this world lost. A few years ago, I had the honor of working with Brad on a song of mine. He actually sang background vocals for ME. Wow. When I met him, the first impression I got was, "wow...i think I may have met one of the most humble gentle souls on this planet". He invited me to see his Beatles tribute band called Beatlejuice one night and I was completely blown away. He managed to sound more like Paul McCartney than Paul McCartney! He also managed to do a perfect John, George and Ringo, all while still sounding like Brad. He was an AMAZING singer and musician. I regret not getting back in touch with him over the years, as I have thought about doing so recently.
So, in honor of Brad, I'm posting the song that he sang on with me on my myspace page. Check it out here: "Martyr" It's called "Martyr", and it was recorded at Blue Jay Studios in Carlisle, MA in 2001.
May love and peace be with Brad's family and friends, and may we all continue to be inspired by Brad and the gift that he shared with all of us. xxoo

As for Kristin Cifelli happenings....
I'm working on a 3 song demo with my friend, Tom Dube. In late January, we got the guys (John Sands, Austin Nevins and Richard Gates) together at the legendary Hi & Dry Studio here in Cambridge, and recorded the basics of 3 of my previously unrecorded songs. Not sure what I'm going to do with these 3 songs yet....I'm going to record the vocals in a couple of weeks and we still need to add some more love to it...such as guitars and piano maybe, and background vocals...we'll see. So that's what I've been doing...also been hibernating and writing.
Me and the guys are playing at Toad on April 1st. I can't wait. I miss those guys so much. Our last date together was in November!! It's time.
Here is my tribute to my favorite month:
Hooray for daylight savings time...hooray for March (my birthday just passed and so did my sweetie's...I've had enough tequilla in the past 2 weeks to last me a whole year, but that's another story), hooray for warm temps, melting ice, hooray for Spring Training and Matsuzaka, hooray for tons of tulips that my Aunt Annie sent me in the mail for my birthday that are brightening my whole house, hooray for fresh strawberries, and new songs.
